SI Group CEO Marcello Boldrini took office Monday, Oct. 19, after the specialty chemicals maker’s 2025 recapitalization reduced its net debt by more than 80%, the company said.

He succeeds SI Group President and CEO David Bradley, who had held both posts since 2019. The company’s announcement did not explain Bradley’s departure or link the leadership change to the earlier debt transaction.

Before joining SI Group, Boldrini led Kraton Corporation. Kraton appointed him chief executive in July 2023 and announced on Jan. 8, 2026, that he had left the role.

SI Group announced on Dec. 23, 2025, that it had completed a recapitalization that lowered its net indebtedness by about $1.7 billion. A new institutional ownership group provided $150 million in junior capital, which the company said would support working capital, operating projects and growth. In June, the owners appointed board members in collaboration with SI Group’s executive leadership team.

The company makes performance additives, process solutions and chemical intermediates for markets including plastics, rubber, adhesives, fuels, lubricants, coatings and oilfield products. SI Group says it operates 18 manufacturing facilities across three continents, serves customers in more than 80 countries and has about 1,500 employees worldwide.

SI Group also said a transformation office Boldrini established at Kraton generated more than $100 million in annual improvements to EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.

Boldrini said he plans to meet employees and customers while working with the leadership team on business priorities. “My initial focus will be on listening and learning,” he said. SI Group said the leadership team would work with him on safety, operating performance and customer commitments.
