Walmart-owned Sam’s Club will price its expanded Thanksgiving spread at about $160 before tax for up to 16 diners, with the 11-item package reaching stores and online Oct. 28 as U.S. food prices remain elevated.
The lineup pairs boneless carver ham and hickory-smoked turkey with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and turkey gravy. Other components are green beans with dried cranberries and almonds, macaroni and cheese, garlic-butter corn, cranberry crunch salad and yeast rolls, alongside a charcuterie tray and two pumpkin pies measuring 12 inches each. The green beans and macaroni and cheese each come in two packages.
Sam’s Club’s 2025 announcement described a nine-item meal for 10 people that cost less than $100. The retailer calls this year’s assortment its largest yet. It says member requests for more protein, gravy, snacks and leftovers informed the menu and led to larger portions of some sides. Ashley Peoples, Sam’s Club’s senior director of product development, said, “Members told us they wanted more leftovers.” The company says it spent nearly a year developing the meal, with 20 to 30 team members involved in testing and analysis.
The retailer estimates preparation takes about two hours. Its roughly $160 estimate is based on average product weights and serving yields, and the company says that calculation puts the cost below $10 per person. The price is before tax; actual prices and weights may vary by club. Shoppers can buy the full assortment or add and remove items.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that its food index rose 2.5% over the 12 months through September 2026. Food at home was up 1.8% over the year but fell 0.1% from August. Food away from home rose 3.5% year over year and 0.2% in September. These indexes measure broad food categories, not the cost of this Thanksgiving package.
The 2026 meal is scheduled to become available online and at Sam’s Club locations starting Oct. 28.
