Multiple reports suggest there are only a few weeks left before Samsung unveils the Galaxy S21 FE. But it appears that the technical specifications of the device were already revealed, thanks to a leaked user manual and promotional images.
Notable leaker Evan Blass shared a Google Docs file of the 167-page Galaxy S21 FE user manual, where Samsung fans can see more details of the mid-range phone’s design. The document calls the phone Galaxy S21 FE 5G, but it remains to be seen if Samsung plans on releasing an LTE-only version.
The images of Galaxy S21 FE in the user manual also match leaked renders that were shared by Blass and other sources several months ago. There will be three cameras in the back and a hole-punch cutout in the front for the selfie camera. The volume keys and side key are on the right side of the phone, while the speaker and the USB-C port are placed at the bottom. There is no dedicated 3.5mm jack, while the fingerprint sensor is in-display.
Blass also shared Galaxy S21 FE promo images that revealed almost all technical specifications of the device. It sports a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the dimensions are 74.5 x 155.7 x 7.9mm. Snapdragon 888 is the only SoC listed. There will be 6GB and 8GB RAM configurations, as well as 128GB and 256GB storage options.
The Galaxy S21 FE battery is advertised with 4500mAh capacity and will support 25W “Super Fast Charging” (wired) and 15W fast wireless charging. The leaked user manual confirms the device still features reverse wireless charging, allowing users to charge smaller devices like Galaxy Buds by using available power from the phone.
The official-looking promo images corroborate previous reports that the Galaxy S21 FE will sport three cameras on the back, including a 12 MP main camera with f/1.8 and optical image stabilizer, 12MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4.
Meanwhile, leaker Jon Prosser also reported this week that the Galaxy S21 FE launch date was slightly adjusted. The phone will be reportedly announced on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, but it will not be widely available until Jan. 11.
