Samsung Electronics has joined forces with Netflix Inc. to bring "Squid Game" to life through an immersive live experience. The South Korean electronics giant will build a pop-up for fans to have a space where they can try the in-person experience of joining the "Squid Game" event.
Samsung is offering a new pop-up experience featuring the said popular movie as the theme. Initially, this can be enjoyed by fans in Los Angeles, and later, the company is planning to add more cities around the world for the unique immersive experience.
Squid Game-Inspired Live Experience
Samsung Electronics and Netflix opened the pop-up called "Squid Game: The Trials" in L.A., and tickets to it are being sold now. Visitors who would like to try the live experience can also buy tickets in advance via online outlets - Ticketmaster and Netflix's own website.
Sam Mobile said the new pop-up was created based on the Netflix worldwide hit drama series "Squid Game" and "Squid Game: The Challenge." It allows visitors to participate in various games that were mostly lifted from the shows. This was made possible by Samsung's innovative technology.
Use of Samsung's Advanced Products to Enjoy the Virtual Adventure
Samsung will use its television models and Galaxy phones to recreate "Squid Game" and make them "real" for fans. It was shared that "The Squid Game: The Trials" pop-up in Los Angeles is powered by a number of state-of-the-art Samsung technologies such as Neo QLED in 4K and 8K TV sets, The Frame TVs, and the brand's mobile gadgets.
"We are thrilled to partner with Netflix to offer industry-leading entertainment experiences," Samsung Electronics executive vice president and head of sales and marketing of visual display business said in a press release. "Through Neo QLED 8 K's stunning picture quality, fans and participants will be able to immerse themselves in the environment and create unforgettable memories."
EVP and head of marketing of mobile eXperience Business, Stephanie Choi, also commented, "Samsung's longstanding relationship with Netflix is based on a shared purpose, which is to fuel passions and help people discover new worlds. It is through our open and collaborative relationship that we are able to open portals into new and immersive experiences."
