Samsung Electronics posted 107.4 trillion won in operating profit for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, as its Device Solutions division supplied almost all the total amid tight memory capacity and strong server demand.

Revenue reached a record 195.3 trillion won, 14% more than in the previous quarter. Device Solutions reported revenue of 147.1 trillion won and operating profit of 106.5 trillion won. Samsung said no technology company had previously recorded quarterly operating profit above 100 trillion won. The company’s Memory Business also set quarterly records for both revenue and operating profit.

Samsung attributed higher prices across memory applications to constrained capacity and server demand. It said Memory Business sales of HBM4 increased and that it continued working to meet demand for server solid-state drives. Reuters reported in coverage carried by CNA that the semiconductor division’s 106.5 trillion won operating profit was below an LSEG analyst estimate of 107.3 trillion won.

For 2027, Samsung expects AI infrastructure investment to reach a record level and AI-driven demand to exceed industry supply compared with 2026. The company spent 29 trillion won on capital expenditure during the quarter and projects about 84.4 trillion won for 2026, including 76.8 trillion won for Device Solutions. It plans new fabrication facilities and supporting infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing. The Device eXperience division reported an operating loss of 0.8 trillion won.

Samsung declared a third-quarter cash dividend totaling 30 trillion won, or 4,601 won for each common and preferred share. It estimated 2026 shareholder returns at 90 trillion to 110 trillion won, with 35 trillion won planned or completed. The board is scheduled to decide how to execute the remaining return policy in late January 2027.
