A reported Oct. 26 Satoshi Note tally put shorts at 89% of position value among accounts ranked by 24-hour performance, showing a narrower imbalance among tracked top performers than two days earlier.
The index groups accounts by performance over different periods and compiles their current positions on Hyperliquid, Lighter, dYdX and Pacifica. Its figures describe those selected accounts and exchanges, rather than the wider crypto market.
At 3:25 a.m. ET (07:25 UTC) Oct. 26, the reported 24-hour group held about $328 million in long positions and $2.58 billion in shorts. The Oct. 24 reading, taken at 2:31 a.m. ET (06:31 UTC), put the group at about $140 million long and $2.98 billion short, or 96% short by position value.
The comparison does not show that individual traders closed shorts or opened longs. Accounts are ranked again for each snapshot, so the people represented in the two totals may differ. Satoshi Note also cautions that recent market moves can affect shorter performance rankings and that a short position may offset an account’s spot holdings.
The 24-hour cohort had 60 accounts long Hyperliquid (HYPE), the exchange’s token, and 71 short in the Oct. 26 tally. The earlier reading counted 41 long accounts and 100 short accounts. HYPE remained short-heavy by position value in the later tally, with about $82 million long against $180 million short, leaving longs at 31% of the total.
The longer ranking window showed little change. The reported seven-day group held about $232 million long and $3.24 billion short on Oct. 26, putting its short share at 93%. The Oct. 24 reading also put that group 93% short, with about $255 million long and $3.21 billion short.
EconoTimes previously covered an earlier Satoshi Note tally that put the 24-hour group 86% short. Because the rankings change, the separate readings do not establish a continuous shift by the same accounts.
