Saudi Civil Defense said danger had passed in Jazan on Friday after an emergency warning, while the Saudi-led coalition said earlier Friday it intercepted a Houthi cruise missile aimed at the kingdom.
Jazan is in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the Yemen border. The warning appeared on the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies. The warning asked residents to heed safety guidance, stay away from gatherings and avoid recording footage. The notice did not describe the danger. Civil Defense said it had passed, and authorities said the area was safe.
The coalition said the missile had been launched by Yemen’s Houthi group toward the kingdom’s western region. It said the missile was intercepted and destroyed.
The coalition has also reported earlier interceptions, including three ballistic missiles aimed at the Eastern Province, in a separate announcement covered by EconoTimes. EconoTimes also covered a separate emergency alert in Abha.
