Anadolu Agency reported Friday that a Saudi-led coalition said air defenses destroyed a cruise missile aimed at western Saudi Arabia, in another reported interception by the alliance.

Anadolu attributed the announcement to coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki, who said the Houthi group launched the missile.

In an earlier episode, three coalition bulletins reported 12 interceptions. They included 10 ballistic missiles aimed at Saudi Arabia’s southern region, one ballistic missile directed at Riyadh and a cruise missile aimed at Khamis Mushait. The statements did not specify where the interceptions happened, according to EconoTimes’ account of those 12 interceptions.

The coalition also said it intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile aimed at Riyadh on Oct. 23, following another reported interception involving the capital three days earlier, EconoTimes reported in its account of the Oct. 23 incident.
