Dr. Williams has worked for IBM since 2002, and before that for PwC’s consulting arm which IBM acquired. He is a native of the United Kingdom, where he attained his Doctorate from the University of Bath. With a background in strategy and change consulting, he has spent the last eighteen years in the United States. After playing a significant role in the development and delivery of IBM’s smart cities, water management and resilience solutions, Dr. Williams proudly holds the esteemed title of IBM Distinguished Engineer.
His expertise in business development coupled with his achievements at IBM has enabled him to become well-respected and recognized in the Utilities, Clean Technology and Manufacturing sectors. Dr. Williams has lent his invaluable knowledge and experience to the next generation of engineers as a visiting lecturer at America’s highly prestigious Stanford University, where he lectured in Smart Cities and Communities at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Dr. Williams’ many achievements throughout his prominent career have made him an expert at merging business strategy and technology, and creating success in both established companies and start-ups. He concentrates his skills on issues related to the Internet of Things (IoT) and utility operations, wherein the focus lies on cyber-security and operational integrity.
