Selena Gomez purportedly checked out from a psychiatric rehab facility recently. But reports have it that she wants to take more time to lay low and before she gets back to the limelight.
Fans may have noticed that Gomez’s social media pages have been lacking the latest updates from the pop star for, at least, over a month now. Reports offer the explanation that she entered rehab for her mental health and went through a one-month treatment program since sometime around mid-October.
Reports coming from E! News and TMZ about a week ago announced that Gomez is back in Los Angeles from the undisclosed rehab facility in the East Coast. However, for unknown reasons, these articles were taken down from the websites shortly after getting published.
While Gomez is out of the live-in rehab program, she will reportedly continue to consult with professionals “as her health battle is ongoing.” A source also mentioned, “(She is) refreshed and is in a better head space.”
However, the former Disney Channel star will understandably “lay low for a while.” The same insider claimed, Gomez needs more time to be “ready to go full force.”
Aside from her battle with mental health issues, Gomez has also been vocal about her struggles with lupus. Because of this illness, she needed to undergo a kidney transplant and found a donor in her “beautiful friend” Francia Raisa.
Gomez did not reveal undergoing this medical procedure until after “several months” from the actual day she had the kidney transplant. In an Instagram post, the singer-actress confirmed that the operation was required due to her lupus and was “needed” for her “overall health.”
Unfortunately, Gomez apparently suffered from a low white blood cell count, which sent her a couple of times to the hospital in October. TMZ reported this led her to experience an “emotional breakdown” that later required a dialectical behavior therapy provided at the psychiatric facility she checked into for a month.
