Selena Gomez has been reported to be preparing for a collaboration with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, and this news is creating quite a stir among the fandoms of the said artists. It was said that the trio is set to release their first song together before this month ends but there are people who are skeptical about this report.
Many are questioning the validity of the news because it sounds impossible to happen. While Selena and Taylor have some chances of teaming up, having Katy in the mix was seen as difficult.
Where the news of collaboration comes from
A fan posted a message on social media and stated that another fan attended Taylor Swift’s #LoverSecretSessions event where she learned about the collab. “According to a fan who was invited and attended to #LoverSecretSessions, there will be a Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Katy Perry collab,” she wrote. “The song is all about women empowerment.”
Some who reacted to the post seems to be convinced. A fan of Selena Gomez suggested that perhaps, the collab song is part of the Charlie’s Angels and said that Selena herself could have already hinted this through the “Bad Liar” music video.
But there were negative reactions too that criticized the leaker of the info if it was indeed true. “So if this is true that fan leaked the collabs after Taylor asked the secret sessioners not to talk about them online,” one commenter wrote. One Selena fan added that they do not want a team-up between their idol and Katy Perry although they may approve of Taylor Swift.
According to Elle, Taylor Swift was preparing for the launch of her new album and invited a select group of fans to listen to her tracks in her home, and this was where the leaker was supposed to have learned about the collaboration with Selena Gomez and Katy Perry.

None of the three - Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift or Katy Perry has confirmed the news. Their respective agencies are also not commenting on the rumors, but a fan of Swift who is a trainee teacher fan denied the reports. She said that she was also present at the #LoverSecretSessions, but there was no announcement or mention of the collaboration.
Whether Selena Gomez’s collab with Swift and Perry is true or not, fans said that leaking the info was a bad move. They pointed out that the fan just violated the “You Need to Calm Down” singer’s trust.
