Students and other marchers arrived in Belgrade from several parts of Serbia on Wednesday, Oct. 21, bringing a student-led anti-corruption campaign to the capital four days before the country votes for parliament, Anadolu Agency reported.

The group that set out from Zajecar in eastern Serbia took six days to reach the capital, Anadolu said.

Serbia's Republic Electoral Commission set the parliamentary vote for Oct. 25 and placed Student List – Students Win third on the ballot among 18 lists competing for 250 seats. The student movement's anti-corruption campaign challenges the governing coalition led by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Anadolu, citing local outlet Insajder, reported that organizers had planned a closing rally at Slavija Square for Thursday, Oct. 22. An earlier EconoTimes report on the marchers' arrival in Belgrade covered their approach to the capital.

The Guardian reported that student volunteers went door to door in Krnjača, a Belgrade suburb, using a phone app to track addresses visited and residents' responses. EconoTimes previously covered the canvassing effort in Krnjača.
