Share of unemployed in Czech Republic likely stagnated in August

The share of unemployed in the Czech Republic is expected to have stagnated in August. New graduates begin to enter the labor market in the summer months. This usually leads to increase in unemployment. The jobless rate had risen to 5.4 percent in July, increasing by 0.1 percentage points.

According to a Societe Generale research report, the share of unemployed is expected to have stagnated at this level. The figure, seasonally adjusted, is expected to have dropped just marginally in the month of August. Meanwhile, the number of vacancies is continuing to grow, which is positive news, stated Societe Generale.
