ATLANTA, March 22, 2016 -- Sharecare, the digital health and wellness engagement platform, and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) are hosting a Twitter Chat in support of AHIMA’s MyHealthID campaign to drive consumer support for a national patient safety identifying number which would serve to assist providers in correctly identifying patients and matching their electronic health records across different health systems.
Scheduled for Thursday, March 24, from 12 to 2 p.m. ET, the #MyHealthID chat will focus on helping people understand their rights as healthcare consumers, and the best way to access and manage their health information. Several AHIMA-affiliated registered health information administrators from across the country will answer questions during the #MyHealthID chat. Other participants include experts from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, Johns Hopkins Medicine, HealthCorps, HealthyWomen, and Sharecare’s Advisory Board*.
As the federal government is currently prohibited from discussing a patient identifier solution, a major component of the MyHealthID campaign is driving signatures to an online petition aimed at opening discussion and encouraging public-private collaboration. AHIMA has set a goal to collect 100,000 signatures in 30 days; and the #MyHealthID chat aims to support this goal.
What: #MyHealthID Twitter Chat
When: Thursday, March 24, 12 to 2 p.m. ET
Who*: Hosted by @SharecareInc and @AHIMAResources
How to Participate:
Submit your questions and comments on Twitter using the hashtag #MyHealthID through 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 24. If you don't have a Twitter, you can post questions to Sharecare’s Facebook page or follow the live chat on Sharecare.
*This is a partial list of experts; more will participate in the live Chat
