Three-exchange liquidations skewed heavily toward shorts in the hour to 14:45 UTC Wednesday as Bitcoin’s Binance spot quote rose 1.23%.

The combined figure was $19.56 million in short liquidations, against $20,000 in long liquidations — a $19.54 million gap. Liquidations are forced closures of trading positions; the tally does not show what caused Bitcoin’s price move.

At 9:45 a.m. ET (14:45 UTC) Wednesday, Bitcoin’s Binance BTC/USDT spot quote was $79,393; one hour earlier, it was $78,426, a $967 difference. That was a single Binance market observation, while the liquidation totals combined activity on all three exchanges.

CoinGecko and exchange spot data showed Bitcoin at $79,434 as of 15:04 UTC, up 2.76% over 24 hours. That later reading is separate from the Binance quote and reflects a later 24-hour comparison window.

An earlier EconoTimes market snapshot put Bitcoin at $76,619 at 04:30 UTC, down 0.46% over 24 hours.
