“Shrek 5” is one of the much-anticipated animated films today. Fans are looking forward to it since it was already announced that the fifth film in the franchise had been given a go signal. However, the announcement came in 2015 and four years after, Dreamworks has yet to release the movie.

It’s got a pretty big reinvention behind it that I guess I can’t really reveal, but since DreamWorks was sold to Universal in that time for over $3 billion, I imagine they’re particularly interested in it stepping up and actually figuring out the future of the franchise in that way on the corporate level”.

“Shrek 5” is taking so long and the production has not been set for almost a decade already. However, with the script on-hand and the writers are still working on the movie, it is clear that it was only delayed. The script is a big indication that the fifth “Shrek” film is coming.

It was said that “Shrek 5” will not be the same as the previous sequels. It will be reinvented thus the story and theme will change. There were reports that it will show a modern twist where the characters may be familiar with modern gadgets now like smartphones and more. The focus will be on Shrek’s family, perhaps his and Fiona’s kids are grown-ups or teenagers now?
