Singapore and the International Labour Organization (ILO) renewed a two-year partnership to help Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) governments, employers and workers prepare for changes in work.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said the agreement was signed June 8, 2026, and will run through June 2028. MOM announced the renewal June 9.

The agreement adds artificial intelligence, platform work and other forms of nonstandard employment to its focus. It also covers demographic change and older-worker participation, MOM said.

Together, the listed subjects span technology, employment arrangements and workforce demographics. Governments, employers and workers are the groups the agreement is intended to support, according to MOM.

The renewal builds on more than 15 years of cooperation between Singapore and the ILO. MOM said the first agreement between them was signed in June 2011.

The current partnership is scheduled to run until June 2028.
