The Economic Times reported that closing prices for six Nifty 500 stocks crossed above their 200-day averages on Oct. 30, a technical shift used to assess longer-term price direction.
The outlet’s list named Wipro, InterGlobe Aviation, GAIL (India), Cipla, Aditya Birla Capital and Indian Bank. Its reported figures put Wipro at ₹198.31 against a 200-day average of ₹193.41; InterGlobe Aviation at ₹4,877.60 against ₹4,796.29; and GAIL (India) at ₹167.91 against ₹165.93.
Cipla’s reported close was ₹1,378.90, compared with an average of ₹1,364.50. Aditya Birla Capital was at ₹369.45 against ₹365.99, while Indian Bank stood at ₹865.50 against ₹864.82.
A simple moving average combines prices over a set period, giving each day equal weight. Traders use the 200-day measure as one indicator of a stock’s broader direction; a price above the line is often viewed as a positive technical signal. The scan did not give company-specific reasons for the crossings or forecast future performance.
EconoTimes previously covered a separate Oct. 19 screen that put eight stocks below their reported 200-day averages. The Nifty 50 fell 1.11% that session.
