Bitget reported about $1.86 trillion in trading across six crypto and traditional-finance categories in the third quarter of 2026, a period that also included unauthorized hot-wallet transfers.
Contracts for difference (CFDs) represented $376.32 billion in third-quarter trading volume. A separate derivatives figure covered September: Bitget put that month’s crypto derivatives volume at $409.19 billion, 31.5% higher than in July.
The exchange said it detected transfers from hot wallets that it deemed unauthorized at 3:05 p.m. ET (19:05 UTC) on Sept. 24. In a Sept. 25 follow-up, Bitget revised its estimate for assets moved to addresses controlled by attackers to about $387.5 million.
Bitget said its Protection Fund had exceeded $300 million by Sept. 30. Earlier, the exchange had pledged to restore the fund to at least $300 million within a week. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen described protecting users as “our biggest priority as we expand.”
