Solana (SOL) led open-interest gains across five crypto perpetual-futures markets in Monday’s snapshot, while Ether posted the highest long-account share and SOL tied XRP for the top funding rate.
At 7:04 a.m. ET (11:04 UTC) Oct. 26, SOL open interest was up 3.64% from 24 hours earlier. Dogecoin (DOGE) rose 1.95%, Ether (ETH) climbed 1.30%, XRP added 0.99% and Bitcoin (BTC) gained 0.52%, the smallest move. All five readings were higher.
Bitcoin had the largest open-interest total at $7.52 billion. Ether stood at $5.43 billion, followed by SOL at $887 million, XRP at $392.9 million and DOGE at $212.6 million. Open interest tracks the value of futures positions that traders have not closed.
Ether led the group in long-account share at 77.2%. XRP’s share was 74.9%, compared with 74.4% for SOL, 72.4% for DOGE and 69% for BTC. The measure describes the portion of accounts positioned for prices to rise.
Funding rates showed a separate pattern. SOL and XRP each had a rate of 0.0100% for every eight-hour period, equivalent to 10.9% on an annualized basis. Positive funding meant payments flowed from long positions to short positions. The rates were 0.0080% for Bitcoin, 0.0054% for Ether and 0.0064% for Dogecoin.
The latest SOL reading can be compared with EconoTimes’ Oct. 17 open-interest snapshot, which recorded $895 million after a 6.59% decline over 24 hours.
