South Korea has entered China’s persimmon market for the first time, with President Lee Jae Myung presenting wider export access as a way to diversify farm sales, The Korea Herald reported Saturday.

The newspaper said the shipment followed 17 years of negotiations. Lee said in a Saturday post on X that adding China as a destination could bring South Korean agricultural products to more consumers. He also said a wider range of markets could reduce reliance on specific destinations and create opportunities for local farming communities, according to the report.
