South Korea’s KOSPI fell 3.73% Tuesday, renewing focus on how artificial-intelligence expansion is financed and whether it can deliver returns across Asia’s technology sector.

The benchmark lost 215.27 points to close at 5,552.74, its lowest finish since April 7. The decline interrupted two sessions of gains, following a 1.76% advance Monday.

Chip stocks weakened as questions about funding AI investment and earning returns from it remained in view. The sell-off also drew attention to technology shares elsewhere in Asia and to investors’ appetite for risk.
