Preliminary figures from Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE) put third-quarter output 0.6% above the preceding quarter and October consumer prices 4.9% above a year earlier.

The flash estimate put annual CPI inflation at 4.9%, unchanged from September. Core inflation, which excludes unprocessed food and energy, was estimated at 3.1%.

INE said prices for fuels and lubricants for private vehicles fell more sharply than in October 2025, weighing on the estimate. Food and non-alcoholic drinks and clothing prices were still rising, but less than in October 2025.

Other components added upward pressure for different reasons. Package-holiday prices were still falling, but less sharply than in October 2025. Gas prices rose more than in October 2025, while liquid-fuel prices increased after falling in the comparable month last year.
