SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ:ANY), a “next cloud” containerization, virtualization and data management solutions provider, today announced that its RDX® QuikStation™ 4 from its wholly-owned subsidiary Tandberg Data has won a highly-coveted PC Pro Recommended Award. RDX® QuikStation™ 4 is a flexible removable disk array that provides automated data protection, offsite disaster recovery and archiving for high data growth. The accolade was achieved following independent and unbiased evaluation by an expert external reviewer and was based on a combination of multiple criteria, including performance, price and features.
“We were delighted to learn that RDX QuikStation 4, which resides in the $1B per quarter Purpose Built Backup Appliance (PBBA) market as defined by IDC, has achieved PC Pro’s Recommended Award status,” said Nilesh Patel, VP of product management and marketing at Sphere 3D. “Offering a data storage solution that allows for smooth integration into a business’s existing physical and virtual infrastructure, while providing management tools that are simple to set up and use, was one of our key criteria when we designed RDX QuikStation 4.
He continued by saying, “The RDX QuikStation 4 is built on our patented and field proven RDX removable disk technology which has been shipped in over 750,000 RDX systems worldwide. This strong foundation of durable and reliable technology, combined with its ability to enable fast, secure and easy to use data archiving, makes the RDX QuikStation 4 a great long-time archiving and disaster recovery choice for both the Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) and the Distributed Enterprise.”
Launched in November 2015, the RDX QuikStation 4 can offer up to 30% shorter backup times and a 50% smaller footprint for the data center when compared to the previous version. For more information on the RDX QuikStation 4, go to the Tandberg Data website at http://www.tandbergdata.com/us/index.cfm/products/removable-disk/
