The previous episode of “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 saw one of the most beloved characters in the show in a truly bad situation. The alien mycelial spore had completely swallowed Tilly (Mary Wiseman), which will make things very complicated in the upcoming episode. On the other hand, this will also make “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 Episode 5 a proper “Star Trek” episode.
As BleedingCool reports, the synopsis and preview for “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 Episode 5 do not paint a pretty picture for the crew of the Discovery. In order to save Tilly’s life, Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) will need to go into the same place where she is trapped. Fans of the original series and films will love this development due to how it feels like a proper episode of the sci-fi property.
On that note, the rescue is not going to be without its issues since this is an alien dimension they will be entering. What’s more, there will be some major developments concerning Section 31 where Captain Georgiou’s (Michelle Yeoh) mission will be revealed to Captain Pike (Anson Mount). The acting captain of the Discovery will not be happy about this since it will complicate his mission to find Spock (Ethan Peck). All of this will be happening in “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 Episode 5.
“Burnham and the crew navigate a dangerous alien landscape in a race against time to save Tilly’s life, but Stamets is not at all prepared for what they find in the process. Further, Section 31 is assigned to help track down Spock, much to Pike’s dismay,” the synopsis reads.
Fans of the series will find out how everything will turn out soon enough when “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 Episode 5 becomes available for streaming on Feb. 15. This episode is certainly worth looking forward to.
