Starbucks Japan will on Monday begin selling the Matcha Genmai Mochi Frappuccino, a drink infused with seaweed kelp, .
The drink consists of three kinds of matcha and genmaicha or brown rice tea, giving it a bitterness to play off the sweetness of the milk, whipped cream, white chocolate powder, toasted mochi, and matcha mousse.
It also has the kakushiaji, which is powdered kuromame or sweet black beans, and kombu or kelp.
The new Frappuccino is being accompanied by a companion hot tea latte, the Matcha Genmai Mousse Tea Latte.
Prices start at 678 yen for a tall Matcha Genmai Mochi Frappuccino and 540 yen for a tall Matcha Genmai Mousse Tea Latte.
