Production for “Stranger Things” Season 3 is at full steam at the moment and fans are clamoring for an announcement of when the show will be up on Netflix. While the streaming service has yet to announce when the third installment is going to premiere, NME reports that it may air around the end of 2018 or the start of 2019.
So what exactly is the show going to focus on now? We saw at the end of season 2 that Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) managed to close the gigantic portal where the Mind Flayer was supposed to cross. Will another such portal appear in “Stranger Things” Season 3?
This is a possibility but not a certainty. In the previous seasons, we’ve seen that the portal in the now abandoned lab isn’t the only gateway to the Upside Down; there were multiple smaller passages as well. “Stranger Things” Season 3 might take the gang on a hunt to sniff out these miniature passages and close them out using Eleven’s powers.
Another path the show might take is uncovering more information regarding Eleven and the government project that made her what she is now. And with Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) now in the picture, this may very well be the case for “Stranger Things” Season 3. However, if they do follow on this storyline, the Duffer brothers might be forced to show more of Eleven’s “siblings,” which would mean that the series might take a kind of X-Men route.
Also, “Stranger Things” Season 3 will most likely address the romantic side of things. With Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) now having a thing, Steve (Joe Keery) is left with no partner. It’s been previously reported that another character will be added to the show.
Robin (Maya Hawke) will be introduced through Steve’s storyline, where he will be working as a staff at an ice cream parlor. Perhaps Robin will be Steve’s new love interest in “Stranger Things” Season 3.
Whatever the case, fans of the show are already gearing up for what will happen to our young protagonists. From shadow monsters and the Demogorgon to mysterious government experiments, “Stranger Things” Season 3 will undoubtedly deliver another epic installment.
