Strategy Puts Potential Digital Credit for Bitcoin at Up to $30 Billion

CEO Phong Le called digital credit the company’s main route to more Bitcoin. A $1 billion to $2 billion STRC issuance in a month was hypothetical, with proceeds potentially split between dollar reserves and purchases.

Strategy CEO Phong Le said digital-credit issuance is the company’s main route to expanding its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor said the balance sheet could support as much as $30 billion in that financing.

On Strategy’s third-quarter earnings call, Saylor said, “We could create $10 billion, $20 billion, $30 billion of digital credit.” He presented the largest figure as what the balance sheet might support, not a stated goal for a fundraising effort.

Le outlined one possible transaction: issuing $1 billion to $2 billion in STRC preferred shares over a month. He said proceeds could be divided between dollar reserves and further Bitcoin purchases; Strategy has not announced such an issuance.

Strategy is moving toward preferred shares such as STRC after earlier financing relied more heavily on convertible debt and common-stock sales. Saylor’s wider digital-credit framework places STRC within a financing model built around Bitcoin holdings.

For the third quarter, Strategy recorded $19.53 billion in net income; a $20.91 billion gain in digital-asset value accounted for most of that result.

A later company tally put its Bitcoin holdings at 848,517 on Oct. 25, marking a 26% increase year to date. EconoTimes previously reported 847,666 Bitcoin as of Sept. 30 in its quarter-end holdings coverage.
