A price mismatch on The Economic Times’ live page complicates its report that Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited shares traded beneath a 20-day EMA in early Thursday trading.
At 11:06:05 p.m. EST Wednesday (04:06 UTC Thursday), The Economic Times listed Sun Pharma shares at ₹1,762.40, down 0.62%, against a 20-day EMA of ₹1,772.93. The reported price was ₹10.53 below the indicator, but the crossing appears only in the outlet’s account. Dhan’s market-data page showed the same EMA at 10:39 p.m. EST Wednesday (03:39 UTC Thursday), with shares at ₹1,774, above the indicator; that earlier reading did not confirm the later move.
At 11:06:15 p.m. EST Wednesday, the liveblog’s summary panel showed a different price: ₹1,798.20.
In a Nov. 2 filing responding to stock-exchange queries, Sun Pharma said it could not determine whether the cited news report explained the share-price movement. It said it knew of no material event or information requiring disclosure under Regulation 30 that had not already been disclosed to the exchanges and could explain the move. The filing said the report concerned developments in August. Sun Pharma announced results for the quarter and half-year ended Sept. 30 on Oct. 30. EconoTimes previously covered The Economic Times’ report that Sun Pharma traded above its 20-day average.
