‘Supernatural’ season 12’s episode 22 and episode 23 will make up the season’s finale and will follow Sam and Dean Winchester as they fight off the greatest threat yet.
The synopsis for both episodes posted on TV Guide reveal that the Winchester brothers will be caught in a war between good and evil. The synopsis for episode 22, titled “Who We Are,” reads, “Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) get caught in a dangerous situation and only have each other to rely on. Meanwhile, the fight between the American Hunters and the British Hunters comes to a head.”
Episode 23, titled “All Along the Watchtower,” reads “Season 12 ends with Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) battling Sam, Dean and Castiel (Misha Collins) for control of his unborn child.”
The two-part finale for the American fantasy-horror television series that airs on The CW is set to be an action-packed one as multiple storylines intertwine. Sam and Dean are left to rely on each other when they find themselves caught in a dangerous situation that they may not get out of. Elsewhere, the American Hunters and the British Hunters are set to clash in a fight of epic proportions.
A teaser shows the British Men of Letters preparing for a final fight against Lucifer, who will make his grand return to take control of his unborn child as Kelly (Courtney Ford) prepares to give birth. Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) failed to gain leverage over the devil in hell, thus allowing him to escape.
Promotional photographs posted on Spoilers Guide don’t reveal much action, but it is worth to note that Kelly is about to deliver the spawn of the devil to the world. It can only be speculated how much havoc this will cause.
‘Supernatural’ season 12’s two-part finale is set to premiere on May 18, 2017 on The CW. Episode 22, titled “Who We Are,” was directed by John Showalter and written by Robert Berens. Episode 23, titled "All Along the Watchtower," was directed by Robert Singer and written by Andrew Dabb.
