Indian quick-commerce users are putting price and product quality ahead of delivery speed for festive purchases, while 60% say extra charges frequently leave them with bills above expectations, a LocalCircles survey found.
In the festive-shopping question, best price or overall value led at 71%, followed by product quality at 65% and availability at 46%. Low or no additional charges drew 43%, offers or discounts 38%, reliable delivery 28% and fast delivery 22%. Participants could select up to three considerations, so the percentages overlap rather than represent exclusive choices.
A separate question asked how often delivery, handling, small-cart or other fees took the final bill above what shoppers expected. Forty-two percent answered “very often” and 18% “often.” Another 12% said “sometimes,” 14% “rarely” and 12% “never”; 2% did not give a frequency.
Spending levels clustered in the ₹200–₹999 range: 20% placed their usual order between ₹200 and ₹399, 27% between ₹400 and ₹599, and 22% between ₹600 and ₹999. Those brackets together covered 69% of respondents. Another 16% typically spent at least ₹1,000, while 7% spent less than ₹200.
“Consumers want the best value, reliable quality and a final bill that matches the price they first saw,” said Sachin Taparia, LocalCircles founder.
LocalCircles said its poll logged more than 204,000 responses from quick-commerce users across 130 districts in India. The organization characterized its method as stratified sampling and reported a margin of error below 5%, with a confidence level above 95%. It did not give separate response totals for the questions about shopping priorities and added fees.
The fee findings describe how often respondents said charges changed their checkout totals, but the survey did not give a typical fee amount. The results show how frequently users reported the issue, not the rupee value added to an individual order.
