Swiggy recorded the largest increase in futures open interest among four Indian stocks in a Thursday, Oct. 22, scan, rising 12.66%, according to StockEdge data reported by ETMarkets.com.
The scan listed Siemens Energy India at 12.45%, Nippon Life India Asset Management at 9.56% and KPIT Technologies at 9.28%. It compared the session with the previous trading day.
Strota’s Oct. 22 tracker also showed rising stock-futures open interest for all four names, alongside lower prices. Its one-decimal readings were 12.7% for Swiggy, 12.4% for Siemens Energy India, 9.6% for Nippon Life India Asset Management and 9.3% for KPIT Technologies. Strota labels the combination “Short Buildup.”
Open interest counts outstanding contracts. By itself, it does not show whether positioning is bullish or bearish. In StockEdge’s F&O Zone, an open-interest increase paired with a price decline receives the “New Short” label; when both rise, the label is “New Long.”
EconoTimes previously reported a similar price-and-open-interest pattern in ABB India futures.
