There were a lot of interesting developments in the previous episode of “Sword Art Online” Season 3, and chief among them was Alice finally fighting back against her own programming. Granted, this came at the cost of her left eye, but she has a cool eyepatch now. In any case, “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 20 is expected to see Alice go all the way by actually fighting against the Administrator to rescue Eugeo.
As TheAnimeScrolls notes, the previous episode saw Kirito being able to push Alice far enough to the edge that she was able to break from the grip of the system on her own. This mirrors exactly what happened with Eugeo when he chose to draw his sword to save his friends. The price was an eye, but the reward is being free from the Cardinal Rule. This is where “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 20 gets interesting.
Basically, Alice is now able to actually go up against the Administrator in order to save Eugeo. Before she and Kirito get to him, though, they will pass by Bercouli who appears to have been frozen solid. It would seem that Eugeo beat him, after all, which is no mean feat. He will congratulate Alice for defying the Administrator in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 20.
This is an interesting turn of events simply because it means that the legendary warrior already knew he was being manipulated all along. Perhaps his defeat at the hands of Eugeo finally set him free. If so, Alice will know exactly what she will need to do once they arrive at the 100th floor in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 20.
Fans will be able to watch “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 20 when it drops on March 2. This is where Alice will be tested on whether or not she will actually rescue Eugeo or side with the Administrator.
