After Jordanian airstrikes in Daraa, Syria suspended passenger and commercial traffic in both directions through the Nasib crossing with Jordan; Daraa’s Health Directorate reported six deaths and four injuries.

The directorate said the fatalities included an older man and three children. The General Authority for Ports and Customs said the closure responded to conditions in Daraa. It said it was monitoring developments and taking steps to protect people at the crossing.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry said it had raised objections with Jordan, saying the strikes occurred without advance coordination. The ministry mourned those killed and said communication with Jordan was continuing.

Jordan’s army said it struck sites belonging to groups it described as terrorist organizations and associated those groups with a fatal Friday shooting at Hamoud Church in southern Jordan’s Karak province. Nine people in the funeral crowd died in the shooting.

The six-death tally exceeds the five reported in EconoTimes’ earlier account of the Daraa strikes.
