LOS ANGELES, Nov. 28, 2017 -- TMS Neuro Institute, led under the direction of Dr. Gennady Musher, MD, Phd, and Faculty Member at UCLA, has officially opened its doors in Los Angeles. The brand new facility was designed to treat patients in a relaxing setting complete with luxurious treatment rooms and high tech equipment.
The offices are expected to be open five days a week under the direction of TMS Neuro Institute’s founder Dr. Musher. He is an expert in using TMS therapy to treat resistant depression and has seven years of experience and specialty training in neuromodulation techniques. Dr. Musher has 25 years of experience in psychopharmacology treatment of multiple psychiatric disorders. He is also an expert in the treatment of resistant depression with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) with seven years of experience and specific training in neuromodulation techniques.
He has been in private practice since 1998 and has experience in the evaluation and treatment of major psychiatric conditions including, but not limited to: major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, mood disorders and forensic evaluations. Dr. Musher is also a faculty member at UCLA.
“At TMS Neuro Institute we can offer patients from 22 to 85 the best alternative treatment in Los Angeles,” said Dr. Gennady Musher. “With more and more opportunities to use treatment without medication, we are confident that patients will complete their treatment in six weeks.”
TMS is an effective treatment alternative for patients who do not respond well to antidepressant medication or psychotherapy or who do not want to take medications with harsh side effects. For example, some patients are not able to take antidepressant medications due to pre-existing medical conditions, others have treatment resistant depression and some patients just prefer a drug-free treatment option. Patients can also remain on their antidepressant medications throughout the TMS treatment process—it’s safe with or without medication.
ABOUT TMS Neuro Institute:
TMS Neuro Institute is one of the earliest adopters in using TMS therapy to treat depression in Southern California. We have successfully helped thousands of patients for whom the traditional methods of treating depression—medication and psychotherapy—did not work.
