BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 13, 2017 -- TOMI™ Environmental Solutions, Inc. (TOMI) (OTCQX:TOMZ), As Clostridium Difficile Spores (C. diff) continue to plague hospitals around the country, the EPA has issued their latest “List K”. List K is to establish a quick reference for those looking for products which are EPA registered and shown to be effective against C. diff Spores. For the first time TOMI’s Binary Ionization Technology®(BIT™) Solution has been added to the most recent list distributed January 27, 2017. (EPA Reg. Number 90150-2.)
“C. diff is truly a nightmare for those who have been inflicted with it. It’s estimated that over 500 thousand Americans contract C. diff infections every year, with 29,000 of them dying.” Says TOMI Scientific Advisory Board Member Dr. Helen Paxton.
List K is comprised of over 50 different solutions and systems, most are spray and wipe chemical products, TOMI’s registration is one of few fogging systems on this list. Dr. Halden Shane, CEO and Chairman of TOMI Environmental Solutions adds - “Our technology is providing an effective and efficient choice in the way hospitals disinfect. Our EPA registration and our inclusion on this list is important, especially as so many products claim so much, but do not offer the combination of quickness, efficacy and environmental friendliness that SteraMist offers. Getting on List K allows TOMI to continue its ambition to lead in this very important fight against C. diff.”
C. diff is a part of a bigger issue in our hospitals cleaning protocols and can lead to a Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) which cost facilities billions of dollars each year, and unfortunately cost patients their lives. EPA Registration (90150-2) also registers TOMI’s SteraMist™ BIT™ system against other common microorganisms which can lead to HAIs including MRSA*, and Pseudomonas.
