The TRT World Forum began Friday in Istanbul with economic questions on its agenda alongside debates over technology and energy, while its 10th edition examines who leads as global rules fray, Anadolu Agency reported.
TRT’s announcement says the 10th edition was scheduled for Nov. 6-7 at the Istanbul Congress Center under the theme “A World Without a Center: Who Leads When the Rules Run Out?” TRT says it has convened the annual gathering since 2017.
TRT’s announced program includes discussions of AI governance, energy, international law and the global economy. It lists sessions on middle powers, postwar Middle East economies and maritime corridors, along with roundtables on Asia-Pacific security, Eurasian integration, the Russia-Ukraine war, and African diplomacy and geoeconomics.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke at the opening alongside Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran and TRT Director General Mehmed Zahid Sobaci, Anadolu Agency reported. EconoTimes previously covered Erdogan’s comments on the Gaza peace agreement at the forum’s opening.
TRT’s tally for the forum’s first decade lists 801 speakers and 162 sessions: 86 open and 76 closed. The program is scheduled to continue Saturday, Nov. 7, according to TRT.
