India’s electric two-wheeler market expanded in October as TVS Motor held the top position and Hero MotoCorp narrowed the gap with third-ranked Ather Energy, according to a Nov. 1 data snapshot.
Entrackr’s Nov. 1 account of India’s Vahan registration dashboard put the total at 223,847, up 7.25% from 208,705 in September. The count reflects registrations rather than manufacturers’ wholesale dispatches. Later Vahan-based reports showed different totals, and the live dashboard can change, so these figures represent that Nov. 1 snapshot.
TVS registered 60,429 units, with Bajaj Auto at 49,067. Ather had 31,796, just 1,895 ahead of Hero at 29,901, while Ola Electric recorded 12,096. TVS and Bajaj together represented just under 49% of the market. From September, registrations rose 22.34% for Hero, 11.08% for TVS, 2.75% for Ather and 0.67% for Bajaj; Ola’s total fell 10.12%.
Autocar Professional described October’s total as a monthly record and said it was 48% above October 2025.
Ather’s unaudited results for July through September showed consolidated profit after tax of ₹1.26 crore, following a ₹154 crore loss in the year-earlier quarter. Total income increased 62% year over year to ₹1,527 crore, according to the company’s September-quarter results.
The company said demand outpaced its available output in Q2 FY27, when peak utilization at its Hosur facility reached 98%. Ather plans to add 75,000 units of annual capacity at Hosur and 150,000 at AURIC. It expects the additions to bring the sites’ combined installed annual capacity to about 1.14 million units by Q2 FY28, with an investment of about ₹122 crore.
