Taco Bell is returning its iconic Caramel Apple Empanada as part of a nostalgic, limited-time menu release. The fan-favorite dessert, featuring a crispy exterior with apple and caramel filling, will be available alongside other retro items as part of the "Through the Decades Menu."

Beloved Caramel Apple Empanada Returns as Taco Bell Launches Nostalgic ‘Through the Decades’ Menu

Taco Bell is delivering on its promise to bring back nostalgic menu items nationwide, at least for a limited time, including one of its most anticipated desserts. Reports suggest that this sweet, limited-edition item is set to return soon. A hint about the dessert reveals it has a crispy and light exterior, filled with apple pieces and a creamy caramel center.

If you guessed the Caramel Apple Empanada, you're correct. An employee at Taco Bell confirmed to blogger Markie_devo that the fast-food chain is launching its "Through the Decades Menu" nationwide. This rollout includes several limited-time options, some of which will only be available through the app. The releases follow market testing on the West Coast earlier this summer.

As previously reported by Parade, this special menu features some of Taco Bell's most popular items from past decades, such as the OG Tostada, Green Burrito, Meximelt, and Beef Gordita Supreme. Customers are eagerly awaiting these upcoming drops. One commented, "My prayers have been answered, and I can finally stop asking Taco Bell about the empanada."

Another customer exclaimed, "The Meximelt! I'll take 20." A third joked, "Wish they had through the decades prices to go along with it, lol." Meanwhile, another Instagram user cheered, "Huge win for longtime fans of the Caramel Apple Empanada."

In addition to the "eat through the decades" menu, Taco Bell has also announced the return of another beloved snack: Nacho Fries.

Taco Bell’s Baja Blast Gelato Returns for a Limited Time, Exclusively for Rewards Members

In an August report, Taco Bell fans are just days away from getting one of the chain's most anticipated desserts of the year, but securing the treat will require specific steps. Earlier this year, Taco Bell introduced a series of new dessert items inspired by its popular Baja Blast collaboration with Mountain Dew, including a Baja Blast Pie and Baja Blast-flavored Cinnamon Twist Topping. Among these is the Baja Blast Gelato, described by Taco Bell as a "creamy and delicious" dessert infused with the "iconic MTN DEW BAJA BLAST Tropical Lime flavor."

Initially tested at a single location in Irvine, California, last August, the gelato is now set for a near-nationwide release starting September 3. However, it will not be available in Hawaii. The gelato will be limited to Rewards Members, who must use the Taco Bell app to make their purchase. The treat will only be available at participating U.S. locations for a limited time while supplies last.

Given the "very limited quantities," Taco Bell has also restricted purchases to four gelatos per order, and delivery is not an option. As of late August, it was still unclear how long supplies would last. Food blogger Snackolator urged fans not to wait, cautioning that rumors suggest each store may only have around 288 gelatos to sell, though Taco Bell has not confirmed these figures.
