The market opened lower in Taiwan on Friday, with the exchange’s main index at 46,139.79 after a 228.54-point drop and early turnover of NT$10.20 billion (US$313.47 million), Central News Agency (CNA) reported.
The index had closed Thursday at 46,368.33 after losing 667.25 points, CNA reported. EconoTimes covered the previous session’s decline.
The Taiex opened after a 1.28% advance Wednesday, when Taiwan Stock Exchange data showed a close of 46,887.77.
The central bank reported $19.402 billion in net foreign equity sales and $17.961 billion in net outward remittances during Oct. 12-16.
Reuters gave no scope or terms for the reported arrangement and also reported that Liu rejected AI bubble concerns and forecast double-digit Foxconn growth in 2027.
