Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called for Italians detained near Kafr Ni’ma to return home after a group of 14 international volunteers helping Palestinians with the olive harvest were arrested, Anadolu reported Friday.

The report identified Giorgia Lombardi among the Italian detainees. Tajani said Italy was following the case and wanted the detainees brought home soon, while describing their activity as agricultural work.

Anadolu also reported Angelo Bonelli’s allegations that volunteers were attacked and Israeli forces confiscated their passports.

The case follows the October return of five Italian women detained during an earlier olive harvest, according to EconoTimes’ earlier report.
