The remarks do not amount to a general policy against acquisitions. He gave no indication of SpaceX’s broader acquisition strategy.
Musk also warned that incomplete data-center projects could leave computing resources idle. The issue is separate from SpaceX’s potential purchases of cloud companies.
Gartner forecasts more than 80% of neocloud providers will lose independent status by 2030. It estimates data center owners need $8.5 trillion through then, versus at most $3.6 trillion in AI-linked revenue.
He described the borrowing as primarily callable and said GPUs would arrive in the first and second quarters, without specifying the years.
