Tesla’s board has tasked disinterested directors with reviewing closer ties to SpaceX, as the company’s latest filing shows $626 million in Megapack revenue and $729 million in receivables, most tied to products awaiting delivery.
The Form 10-Q reports $626 million in revenue that Tesla recognized on Megapack products bought by SpaceX during the first three quarters of 2026. Separately, Tesla listed $729 million in accounts receivable linked to SpaceX on Sept. 30. The $626 million is revenue recognized in the nine months ended Sept. 30; $588 million of the $729 million quarter-end receivables related to Megapacks Tesla had not delivered.
Of the $729 million, $588 million concerned Megapack systems that had not been delivered. Tesla linked those receivables to milestone billings and capacity reservations for the equipment. Excluding the undelivered Megapacks would leave $141 million in receivables.
The balance reflects billing arrangements that can put amounts in receivables before equipment delivery. The revenue and receivables figures therefore describe different parts of the companies’ commercial relationship.
Tesla’s filing says directors without conflicts will evaluate the companies’ relationship and possible next steps. A business combination remains one possibility; any deal would require an affirmative committee recommendation and any shareholder approval required, and no transaction is assured.
Tesla’s second-quarter Form 10-Q put revenue recognized from SpaceX’s Megapack business in the first half of 2026 at $405 million. EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the first-half Megapack disclosure detailed that six-month figure.
