Technology executives called on Thai companies to redesign workflows and train staff as generative AI use among people ages 15 to 64 reached 13.4% in the second quarter, well below Singapore’s rate.

Microsoft’s Q2 2026 Global AI Diffusion Report estimated that 13.4% of people in that age group in Thailand used a generative AI product during the period, compared with 12.4% in Q1. True Corporation’s recap said companies would need to change how work is organized and build employee skills to pursue lower costs, higher productivity and new revenue.

Microsoft Asia CTO Mark Anthony Souza said AI agents could take on routine assignments, data review and complex workflows, according to True’s recap. He said employees would set direction, make decisions and review results. The Bangkok Post separately reported that Olivier Klein, AWS chief technologist for Asia-Pacific and Japan, warned that eliminating junior roles could weaken companies’ future talent pipelines.

Bangkok Hospital has used a climate technology platform from True Digital Group and Alibaba Cloud since September 2023 to manage its heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Alibaba Cloud reported that the hospital’s average monthly energy use was as much as 15% below the previous year’s level.

Microsoft said its next diffusion report will include a wider range of AI tools, an expansion that may increase measured use in almost every economy.
