‘The Affair’ Season 3, Episode 3 Spoilers: Noah Gets Attacked, Goes to Surgery but Doesn’t Remember Incident

‘The Affair’ season 3’s episode 3 will follow Noah as he gets attacked with a knife. Upon waking up from surgery, he realizes that he has no memory of the incident.

The synopsis for episode 3 posted on TV.com reads, “Juliette (Irene Jacob), running from secrets she left in Paris, looks for adventure and romance in America. Noah (Dominic West) is an alluring prospect but a terrifying event blasts her hopes of a carefree affair. Meanwhile, Noah must fight like never before and try to make sense of what just occurred.”

The promo for episode 3 opens to Noah finding himself in an ambulance as he struggles to stay conscious. In the hospital, Helen (Maura Tierney) demands, “Who did this to you? Who stabbed you, Noah?” When he says he couldn’t remember, investigators ask him a series of questions in hopes of finding the culprit.

One investigator asks, “Is there anyone out there who’s got a grip with you? What’s your relationship like with Cole Lockhart? Alison Bailey?” Another asks, “What about the woman who found you? Juliette Le Gall.”

In the next scene, his sister Nina (Jennifer Esposito) asks him what Juliette was doing in his apartment at a strange hour. In Juliette’s place, Noah tells her that he doesn’t remember getting attacked. He adds, “I’ve also forgotten why you were there.”

It seems possible that Noah’s attacker may be connected with Juliette somehow. Jacob, a BAFTA and César Award-nominated actress, joined season 3’s cast in a prominent recurring role. Her character was described as someone escaping secrets of her own.

She is Noah’s new love interest and helps him process his past traumas. She also helps him understand himself better. According to Variety, season 3 picks up three years after Noah pleads guilty to the murder of Scott Lockhart. Although Noah is given a new chance at life following his release, he has never been the same ever since.

In another clip from the incoming episode, Noah demands that someone tell him exactly what happened as he was lying on the hospital bed. The nurse explained that he was attacked with a knife and bled profusely prompting the emergency team to take him to surgery.

 ‘The Affair’ season 3’s episode 3 is scheduled to air on Showtime on December 4, 2016. It will be followed by episode 4 scheduled for December 11.
