Topic Reviews deal analysts help shoppers find the best deals by comparing Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts from the big retailers. The biggest online retailers still see Cyber Monday as the biggest sales event of the year thanks to shoppers’ seemingly endless enthusiasm for finding great deals. Last year shoppers spent close to $700 billion during the holiday shopping season, according to data released by the National Retail Federation. Spending has been on the rise each year, growing at a rate of 5% on average for the past six years.
The continued shift towards online spending for retailers has alleviated a lot of the overcrowding issues that stores encountered during previous Black Friday sales events. Statistics made available by the NRF reveal that last year 110 million shoppers headed to the web for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. In comparison, 99 million traveled to brick and mortar stores to access discounts.
Most retailers started running Black Friday deals on Monday November 20th and will continue promotions until Cyber Monday ends.
