‘The Blacklist’ season 4’s episode 18, titled “Philomena,” will follow the team as they attempt to catch and subdue the bounty hunter that has been targeting Red and his associates. Meanwhile, Ressler will face a moral dilemma when he partners with a former colleague.
The synopsis for episode 18 posted on TV Guide reads, “The task force pursues an artful bounty hunter who's targeting Red's (James Spader) closest associates. In other events, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) faces a moral dilemma when he teams with a former colleague for a new assignment.”
Red and his associates are in grave danger as they are being targeted by a bounty hunter. It was previously revealed that Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) was the one behind the campaign against Red. The promo teases the antagonist’s next move.
Liz is seen heading home only to find that Mr. Kaplan was already there holding Agnes. It will be interesting to see if Mr. Kaplan will make Agnes her next target in her mission to get revenge from Red.
The previous episode, titled "Requiem," showed Kaplan as she collected all the bodies she cleaned up for Red in order to use them against him. It was revealed in flashbacks that the young Kate was hired by Katarina as Liz’ (Megan Boone) caretaker. Kate then learned of Katarina’s relationship with Liz and that he thought Liz was his child.
During a fire, Katarina was forced to flee while Kate was given instructions to give Liz to Sam to Raise. When Kate’s love was murdered, a metal plate was put into Kate’s head. Red then called for Kate to help protect Liz while being under his employ as his cleaner.
Kate then vowed to protect Liz at all costs and that she would pick Liz over Red if she had to make a choice between the two. In the present, Red managed to track down Mr. Kaplan, who is seeking her revenge.
According to Cartermatt, the upcoming episode is set to put more focus on Enrique Murciano’s character. Ressler is set to team up with his former colleague for a new assignment but it seems that Ressler will be forced into a moral dilemma because of it.
‘The Blacklist’ season 4’s episode 18, titled “Philomena,” is scheduled to air on NBC on April 27, 2017. It will be followed by episode 19, titled "Dr. Bogdan Krilov," scheduled to be released on May 4.
