“The Eminence in Shadow” Season 2 is one of the most popular isekai anime programs on the air right now, and the production team has recently hinted at what the ninth episode of the new season will be about. The anime's official website has published a pair of trailers, preview stills, and a description for “The Eminence in Shadow” Season 2 Episode 9, which will show on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
According to the teasers, the Shadow Garden will finally open its doors in the Orianna Kingdom. The Orianna Kingdom storyline is the season's conclusion, and it continues Rose Orianna's fight with the Cult of Diablos from the closing episode of Season 1.
“The Eminence in Shadow” Season 2 Episode 9 is titled “Key,” and you can read the official summary (translated in English) below:
“666 and his friends, who are investigating the ruins of the Kingdom of Oriana under 559, discover 666's mother, Queen Reina, being taken away by the leaders of the cult. A battle begins involving the queen over the ‘key’ hidden in the ruins.”
“The Eminence in Shadow” Season 2 is being animated by Studio Nexus, with Kazuya Nakanashi directing. Season 2 debuted on October 4, 2023, with returning cast members from the previous season, which aired in 2022.
What is the plot of’ The Eminence in Shadow’ Season 2?
The anime is based on Daisuke Aizawa's Japanese light novel series The Eminence in Shadow (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!). Since 2018, Enterbrain has begun releasing the series using Tozai's artwork, with five volumes presently available in English. The light novels were licensed in English by Yen Press, and the animation is presently in its fourth volume, which you can read about here:
“The specter of war hangs thick in the air of the Oriana Kingdom, where Princess Rose is expected to wed Duke Perv. This supposed marriage cannot and will not stand, though, as it would throw a major wrench in a certain shadowbroker’s plans. The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 will be accessible to watch outside of Japan on HIDIVE, much like the first season. The second season will contain 12 episodes (the previous season had 20), and the first eight episodes of the second season are currently accessible to watch online. On Wednesday, November 29, Episode 9 will be available for streaming.
