‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 16, titled “I Was Feeling Epic,” will feature Damon and Stefan as they do battle against their greatest enemy in hopes of saving all of Mystic Falls. The season finale will also feature the return of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert.
The brief synopsis for “I Was Feeling Epic” posted on TV Guide reads, “With the fate of Mystic Falls at stake, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) fight their greatest enemy in one last, epic battle.”
It seems that the fate of all Mystic Falls lie in the hands of brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore as they come face to face with their greatest enemy in one final battle of redemption. As the series finally comes to a close, it was speculated that the finale will feature a major character’s shocking death.
According to Christian Post, Ian Somerhalder’s Damon Salvatore is the likeliest candidate to be killed off from the highly-popular supernatural drama television series based on the popular book series authored by L. J. Smith. It seems that killing off Damon will be the most reasonable choice as he has developed into one of the most heinous characters on the show.
In much of the recent season, Damon has been murdering innocent people under Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) then Cade’s (Wole Parks) bidding. His downward spiral left death and devastation in its wake. He has also strained relations with his allies as well as his own brother.
However, Damon’s possible death is yet to be confirmed as details of the upcoming finale episode continues to be kept under wraps.
Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev’s Elena Gilbert is expected to return from a spellbound slumber. The sneak previews released revealed a confused Elena as she is awoken back to the real world. It will be interesting to watch one of the show’s most popular characters reunite with her friends.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8’s episode 16, titled “I Was Feeling Epic,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 10, 2017. It was directed by Julie Plec and written by Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson.
