SAN DIEGO, May 08, 2018 -- Cocaine is one of the oldest drugs known to man. The pure chemical hydrochloride has been abused for over 100 years and cocoa leaves, the source of cocaine have been ingested for over a thousand years. Smaller amounts are routinely seized by privately owned vehicles or couriers using buses or airlines to transport the drug.
